To compete with declining marriage rates and Western-style wedding pastries, Gao innovated by reducing sugar and oil in half, introducing small Han biscuits and the best-selling egg yolk pastry for the Mid-Autumn Festival, successfully reviving the family bakery. Gao Xiangzhen Bakery, located in Yunlin, is a popular choice for locals when it comes to weddings and gifts, with a reputation for its quality large pastries.
