During a media gathering on June 24, Minister of Culture Li Yuen reminisced about the past collaboration with South Korean director Lee Chang-dong as jury members at the Golden Horse Awards. Lee Chang-dong mentioned last year that the Korean Wave was declining, indicating a potential rise of the Taiwanese Wave. Minister Li mentioned that Taiwan's film industry has been flourishing in recent years, with new talented directors emerging and producing significant works. The Ministry of Culture aims to support this growth through initiatives like cultural subsidies and marketing events, as well as seeking opportunities for international collaborations to expand the global reach of Taiwanese films.
