Taiwanese Firefighters Rescue Fishermen Trapped by Sudden Surge in River Water Levels in Taichung

On July 5, 2024, in Taichung's Dongshi and Shigang districts, many river waters suddenly surged, trapping several fishermen in the riverbeds. Firefighters were alerted and successfully rescued three fishermen, all of whom were unharmed. The surge was caused by the release of water from the Dajia River. The firefighters employed various rescue techniques, including rope-assisted crossing, to ensure the safety of those trapped. Two more fishermen were rescued in a separate incident, highlighting the firefighters' swift and effective response to the emergencies.
