The People's Party revealed issues in Taiwan's egg supply last year, prompting the agricultural department to import eggs through a special project. However, the company 'Chao Si,' which won the multi-million dollar egg procurement contract, with a capital of only 500,000 NT dollars, raised suspicions. People's Party lawmakers Huang Guochang and Zhang Qikai called for an investigation as it was discovered that Chao Si procured 25 million eggs without signing a contract. The case is being highlighted as a prime example for the importance of parliamentary reform. Huang emphasized the need to establish a parliamentary hearing procedure to uncover the truth and combat corruption effectively.
