The Taiwanese fishing boat 'Da Jinman 88' was seized by two Chinese coast guard vessels while operating outside of Kinmen, then forcibly taken to Weitou Port in Fujian. According to China’s Taiwan Affairs Office, the fishing boat had violated off-season fishing regulations by engaging in trawling operations. The Chinese authorities stated that the coast guard's actions were in accordance with the law to maintain order in the fishing industry, marine resources, and the ecological environment. The boat had a total of five crew members, including two Taiwanese and three Indonesian nationals, on board.
