Taiwanese Fishing Vessel Seized by Japan for Suspected Unauthorized Fishing, 8 Crew Members Detained

A Taiwanese fishing vessel, the 'Kang Fu Yang 266,' from Keelung's Badouzi, was intercepted by a Japanese patrol vessel for allegedly fishing in Japanese waters. The boat had 2 Taiwanese captains, an engineer, and 6 Indonesian crew members on board, all of whom were taken back to Japan. The exact circumstances are still unclear, and both Taiwanese and Japanese authorities are handling the situation. This incident occurred about 288 nautical miles northeast of Pengjia Islet in the early hours of July 5th.
