Taiwanese Gambling Group Raises 230 Million in One Year, Bullets Found in Server Room, Main Suspect Claims They Belonged to Deceased Friend

Reported about 1 year ago

In Taiwan, the Criminal Investigation Bureau cracked down on a gambling operation located in a commercial building in Taichung, which raked in 2.3 billion NTD in bets over a year. The police arrested the 30-year-old main suspect and seven others, seizing hundreds of bullets in the server room. The main suspect, Chen, claimed that the bullets were left by a deceased friend. The group had previously been busted last year and rebranded to avoid detection, with Chen earning illicit profits of 2-4 million NTD. The police will further investigate the origin of the weapons, and all eight suspects are now facing charges related to firearms and gambling offenses.
