Taiwanese Graduate High Achiever from NTU Arrested for Threatening a Chain Fast Food Store with Poisoning Due to Unemployment and Financial Needs

On June 11, 2024, at 4:38 am, Taiwan Television News reported that a well-known chain fast food store's website received threats demanding a payment of 300,000 NT dollars or else the food would be poisoned. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the suspect was a high-achieving female graduate from National Taiwan University who had previously worked in a government agency. The woman confessed that she made the threats due to financial difficulties after being unemployed for six months and out of money to spend, revealing that the motivation stemmed from previous incorrect orders she received. Following her arrest, she was prosecuted and released on bail of 10,000 NT dollars.
