Since Defense Minister Gu Li Xiong took office on May 20 this year, he has initiated several reforms within the military. DPP Legislator Lin Chu Yin raised concerns in the Legislative Yuan today, stating that many lower-ranking officers and soldiers complain that the policy of 'cancelled leave reports' has not been implemented effectively, leading to contradictions between policies at the top and the practices on the ground. This has resulted in discontent among the military members. Gu responded by acknowledging the feedback and emphasized the need to reduce the burden on lower-ranking military personnel by not adding any additional restrictions on their leaves. The aim is to only report incidents when necessary, rather than mandating leave reports for routine activities.
