Chuang Chun-jen Biotech Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Tainan, Taiwan has been found to be involved in manufacturing counterfeit drugs, leading to a public notice by the Department of Health to recall 12 related products and urging people to stop using them immediately. The company was discovered producing traditional Chinese medicine products in an unapproved area, with some drugs containing unidentified powder, suspected of illegal production of counterfeit drugs. To ensure public safety, the Department of Health announced the recall of products such as Gui Fu Di Huang Wan, Renshen Gu Quan Wan, and more. Local health authorities have issued instructions for the removal of these products from clinics, pharmacies, and drugstores. Investigation by the Tainan District Prosecutors Office is ongoing, addressing violations of the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act with potential penalties of up to 10 years imprisonment and fines up to NT$100 million.
