Taiwanese High-End Beef Restaurants Fined for Storing Expired Meat, Whistleblower Rewards Delayed

Reported 7 months ago

Two upscale beef restaurants in Taichung, '和牛EMPEROR' and '御帝和牛,' were found storing expired meat and altering expiration dates, leading to closures and fines of 1.44 million and 1.92 million NTD respectively by the health department. Both cases were reported by whistleblowers who are entitled to a 50% reward, but delays in payment are expected as one of the establishments is contesting the penalty and both are paying fines in installments.
