Taiwanese High School Students in Okinawa Challenge Koshien for 'Baseball Study Abroad'

Reported 10 months ago

More and more Taiwanese high school students are going to Japan to experience Japanese high school baseball and study abroad. This year, there are 5 Taiwanese baseball exchange students at Okinawa Christian High School in Okinawa. They have gone from not speaking a word of Japanese to communicating with their Japanese teammates on the field. Their common slogan, a mix of Chinese and Japanese, is to give their all to reach the highest stage of Japanese high school baseball, the summer Koshien. In a reciprocal gesture, the Japanese players visited Taiwan during winter break to strengthen their bond with the Taiwanese students, illustrating the increasing exchange between Taiwan and Japan.
