During Taiwan's Legislative Affairs Committee meeting to review certain amendments to the Recall and Impeachment Act of Public Officials on July 4th, DPP legislators occupied the chairmanship early in the morning and disrupted the proceedings. Chairwoman Gao Jinsumei attempted to relocate the meeting to another venue but was blocked, finally moving to a different room. She announced the adjournment, declaring that the meeting would reconvene on Monday amidst protests from KMT legislators against the DPP's actions. Gao expressed concerns for the restrained committee members and criticized the DPP's actions as undemocratic, emphasizing the need to consider the well-being of the officials involved.
