During a report on 'how to collect national security information using private communication facilities' by the Legislative Yuan Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee, Kuomintang legislator Yu Wan-chin continued to question Democratic Progressive Party policy executive director Wang Yi-chuan. She asked whether Chunghwa Telecom sells personal data to political parties or politicians, to which the company's deputy general manager Lin Wen-chih emphasized that they do not sell personal information. On another note, concerns were raised about IDC-related business operations involving Chunghwa's subsidiary, FET, and their cooperation with China and Hong Kong, with the National Security Bureau director Tsai Ming-yen affirming the need for compliance with national laws regarding information security.
