During a legislative session, KMT legislator Liao Wei-Xiang raised concerns about the 'New Youth Housing Loan' policy introduced by the Ministry of Finance before the 2024 election, which aimed to help young people buy homes but led to a surge in housing prices in Taiwan. Liao questioned whether the policy promotes housing justice or property speculation. In response, Premier Su Tseng-chang promised a comprehensive review of the policy after receiving criticism. Liao highlighted that the policy has made the housing market more active, with a significant increase in property transactions in Taiwan and rising home prices in several regions.
