Reported 12 months ago

On July 3, 2024, Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang faced a recall initiated by citizens and formed the 'Mountain Sea Citizens Demolish Liang Action' group. Kuomintang Legislator Lai Shih-pao pointed out that the group raised over 7.1 million NT dollars through crowdfunding and sold T-Shirt merchandise. Lai reminded the Taxation Bureau to inform the group to register for tax and pay business tax or income tax. Taxation Bureau Director Song Xiu-ling stated that if the requirements are met, taxes should be declared and paid; business tax should be reported by July 15. Lai questioned the establishment of the association by the 'Demolish Liang Action' group and if they should pay business tax for selling goods.
