On July 8th, during a review of an amendment to the Recall Act at the Legislative Yuan's Internal Affairs Committee, a physical altercation between Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Legislator Huang Jie and Kuomintang (KMT) Legislator Wang Hong-wei occurred, resulting in Wang allegedly punching Lin Chu-yin for 15 seconds, causing facial injuries and a bleeding chin. The incident has sparked condemnation of physical violence in the parliament.
