Nationalist Party legislator Xu Qiuxin has filed a lawsuit against her uncle-in-law Du Bingcheng for defamation, following reports accusing Xu of involvement in illegal activities related to submarine sonar. In response to the allegations, Xu presented receipts to refute the claims and emphasized she has no connection to the submarine case, other than knowing the individual, Kuo Hsi. The Defense Ministry and Navy have also denied any leaks related to the case, and the Taipei District Prosecutors' Office is investigating the matter. Additionally, Xu's aunt Liu Xiangjie disclosed that another accomplice in a fraud case implicated Democratic Progressive Party legislator Lai Hui-yuan, potentially violating regulations. Both Lai and Liu clarified their positions to avoid further controversy.
