A Taiwanese photographer was recently detained in Nanjing for exhibiting LGBT works. Mainland China's Taiwan Affairs Office responded that the photographer was carrying 58 'obscene items,' but due to lack of understanding of Chinese laws, they were 'not subject to administrative penalties.' The office condemned the Democratic Progressive Party's attempt to intimidate Taiwanese people using this incident, claiming it as a publicity stunt. The photographer, Lin Jiahang, was participating in the 'Nanjing Art Book Exhibition' with LGBT photographic works and was detained by local public security. After local assistance, the photographer left the case center that night and returned to Taiwan a few days later.
