In Fengyuan, Taichung, a 43-year-old man surnamed Liu committed suicide by shooting himself in the head in a residential building, sustaining two gunshot wounds. Despite medical efforts, he did not survive. It was reported that Liu and his girlfriend had been living together for over 3 years, but their relationship was complicated as they had frequent visitors for card games which led to recent arguments. Police investigation suggests Liu might have had debt issues, with the exact reason for the incident still under review. Neighbors shared that Liu did not work, rarely interacted with them, and there were often gatherings for card games in his residence. The case has been referred to the Taichung District Prosecutors Office for further examination.
