In Taoyuan, Taiwan, a man surnamed Chen has been selling counterfeit luxury goods such as CHANEL, LV, GUCCI, and Hermès through live streaming since April 2022, accumulating a market value of 7.67 million 6859 NTD. Following a police investigation, Chen was caught and sued by the Taiwan authorized distributor for violating the Trademark Law. All infringing goods and profits were confiscated. Chen admitted to the crime and is facing legal consequences for continuous trademark infringement. This incident sheds light on the issue of counterfeit products circulating in the market.
