Taiwanese Man in Thailand Executed and Abandoned, National Judges to Prosecute Shooter and Accomplices

Reported 8 months ago

Taiwanese drug fugitive 'Master' Shih Mao-qiang was shot dead in Thailand at the end of February, with Thai police identifying 4 Taiwanese men and 1 Thai woman as suspects. One of the suspects, 24-year-old Chou Yu-fan, fled to Taiwan after the incident and was brought back for investigation. Following an indictment by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office under the homicide law, Chou Yu-fan and his boss Wang Cheng-teng have been charged, while the other two suspects remain at large. This marks the 14th case prosecuted by the Taipei District Prosecutors Office involving lay judges. The indictment details how Wang, who operated a marijuana store in Thailand, shot Shih in the head in a dispute, and later with the help of others hid the body near the Bangkok airport before fleeing to Cambodia.
