FTNN News website reported that on June 22, 2024, New Taipei City Mayor Gao Hong-an, who is a member of the People's Party, posted a photo holding a mango ice cream on Facebook, which was suspected to be a photoshopped image of mango ice cream from a shop in Kaohsiung. The New Taipei City Government explained that the image was created using AI technology, but a council member from the Democratic Progressive Party, Liu Chongxian, criticized Gao for not admitting his mistake and urged him to sincerely apologize to the shop owners publicly, rather than continuing to cover up with lies. This incident follows previous issues of Gao using unauthorized songs and images for self-promotion, leading to concerns about his moral integrity and legal knowledge.
