Taiwanese Media Exposed Chinese Journalists Seeking Testimony for Political Influence

According to a report by SET News on July 4, 2024, Taiwanese media revealed that Chinese state media had been closely monitoring and influencing political talk shows on local television stations, aiming to meet the Chinese Taiwan Affairs Office's requirements. Wu Tz-Chia, chairman of the Liberty Times Electronic News, accused Zhao Bo, a journalist from Xinhua News Agency, of inciting rebellion and requested DPP legislator Shen Po-yang to testify. Shen confirmed having information that China was trying to interfere in Taiwan's political discourse and was asked to provide evidence matching his knowledge. He emphasized the importance of strengthening law enforcement capabilities in such cases.
