Taiwanese Minister Denies Factional Struggle Over IV Shortage

Reported 9 months ago

Taiwan's Minister of Health and Welfare, Shih-Chung Que, denied allegations of factional struggle within the ministry due to an IV shortage issue. Recently, a shortage of IV fluids led to rumors that the Director-General of Food and Drug Administration, Show-May Wu, was being blamed, causing tensions within the ministry. However, Minister Que dismissed these claims as baseless and urged the public not to make unfounded connections. Despite reports of Wu's alleged incompetence, Que emphasized that any adjustments to top management will be made based on operational needs. The shortage of IV fluids in Taiwan, caused by a major manufacturer being shut down for violations, has sparked controversies within the ministry.
