It was later announced that the Director-General of the FDA, Hsiu-Mei Wu, will step down and be replaced by Cheng-Sheng Huang from China Medical University, due to ongoing drug shortages and food safety issues. Wu's resignation comes after mounting criticism from lawmakers, and speculations suggest her stance on certain issues clashed with that of the ruling party. Huang confirmed he will assume the position on July 1st, sparking discussions within the medical community.
