Family members of renowned Taiwanese mountaineer Zhang Yuanzhi confirmed today (June 28) that he fell from a height of 250 meters while climbing Mont Blanc on the 27th, and was found lifeless, aged 36. Zhang's mother and wife issued a statement explaining that the accident happened on June 27 in Chamonix, France, with support from friends and authorities for arrangements to bring Zhang back to Taiwan. Zhang, who loved climbing, had previously expressed the connection between climbing and death, highlighting the intense experience it provides about life and mortality.
