Premier Su Tseng-chang apologized to the public while Fisheries Agency chairperson Kuan Bi-ling admitted that the punishment was deserved. In response, opposition party legislator Wang Hung-wei criticized Kuan, questioning why she didn't voluntarily step down. The incident led to a press conference by the Coast Guard, acknowledging human error and leading to disciplinary action against 10 individuals, including the head of the northern branch and crew members.
