It was reported on July 2, 2024, that there were mainland Chinese journalists in Taiwan monitoring a political talk show. Deputy Minister of the Mainland Affairs Council, Liang Wen-jie, stated that they couldn't locate the source, making the investigation difficult. Nationalist Party legislator, Wang Hong-wei, criticized the situation, suggesting that they are treating Democratic Progressive Party legislator Shen Bo-yang, who was already aware of the issue, as insignificant. Despite earlier confirmation of the involvement by the Mainland Affairs Council and Culture Ministry in the matter, Liang Wen-jie mentioned the lack of evidence and difficulty in verification. Wang Hong-wei highlighted the irony of the situation, questioning the government's sincerity in seeking the truth when they claim to have trouble finding the source, particularly with Shen Bo-yang already aware of the issue.
