Recently, the topic of priority seating on public transport has sparked discussions in Taiwan. Minister of Transportation Li Meng-Yan expressed full support for the policy and stated that the Ministry of Transportation would fully cooperate if the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Legislative Yuan passed amendments. Minister of Health and Welfare Chiu Tai-Yuan supports keeping priority seating but mentioned plans for future enhancements in two directions. They aim to improve the name and the target passengers for priority seating, drawing inspiration from other countries like Japan's 'priority seats.'
