Taiwanese Politician Involved in Corruption Case Granted Bail of 5 Million NTD; Reaction from Political Leaders

Former Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan, currently the Chairman of Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation, was implicated in a corruption case related to the Hwaya Technology Park in Linkou. Taoyuan prosecutors summoned and arrested Cheng, who was later granted bail of 5 million NTD by the court. Nationalist Party Chairman Eric Chu expressed regret over the situation, while People's Party Chairman Ko Wen-je stated that they are waiting for the investigation results. The court restricted Cheng's movements and interactions as the case unfolds.
