Taiwanese Politician Involved in Corruption Case; Party Member Comments on the Situation

Lee Chien-lung, the Chairman of Xianzong Temple, commented on the situation involving the corruption case of Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-Tsan, with Cheng being released on bail of 5 million NT$. Lee stated that the case was merely for show and that Democratic Progressive Party member Lai Ching Te was clever in managing the situation. Lee expressed concern about the lack of unity within the party during a parliamentary reform meeting, emphasizing the importance of coming together for the 2024 presidential election and addressing issues of corruption democratically.
