Reported about 1 year ago
Taiwanese Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) councilor Lin Ei-Ting's father, Lin Shi-Jie, who was also the chairman of a fishermen's association, was shot dead in Tainan. Lin Shi-Jie had a criminal record involving firearms before entering politics but later supported the DPP and Mayor Huang Wei-Che. His daughter, Lin Ei-Ting, successfully ran for councilor after his unsuccessful political career and was acquitted in a case where he was accused of directing votes. The incident is believed to be linked to local underworld disputes.
