Tsai Ing-wen, the Premier of Taiwan, hosted a banquet for the third batch of Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) legislative members. Legislator Wu Si-yao, the Secretary-General of the DPP Legislative Yuan Caucus, mentioned that the key word during the banquet was 'review case.' This was in reference to the review of the expanded powers bill, the possible infringement on executive authority, the destruction of the constitutional principle of power separation, and the protection of basic rights. Premier Tsai took the opportunity to discuss these matters with the legislators and emphasized the importance of upholding the constitution and securing support from both ruling and opposition party legislators. The purpose of the banquets was interpreted as strengthening communication between the executive and legislative branches to prepare for parliamentary battles.
