On June 28, 2024, the new high-performance naval vessels in Taiwan, known as the Tuo Jiang-class, specifically the An Chiang and Wan Chiang ships, will undergo a commissioning ceremony in early July. President Lai Ching-te will preside over the event. These vessels are armed with advanced anti-ship missiles and will enhance Taiwan's ability to respond swiftly to any threats from the People's Liberation Army. These additions bring the total number of Tuo Jiang-class ships to 7, providing a stronger defense capability for the Taiwanese Navy.
