A residential fire broke out in Tucheng District, New Taipei City in the early hours of June 13, resulting in 3 deaths. The son's girlfriend rushed to the scene and tearfully explained that during the fire, she was on the phone with her boyfriend, but they lost contact shortly after. The daughter's boyfriend and the mother and son of the family were tragically killed, while the father and daughter were rescued promptly. The fire is believed to have started due to a lithium battery explosion from garden equipment being charged in the living room, with details pending investigation by the fire department.
