Taiwanese Residents in Nantun District Suffer From Early Morning Power Outage Due to Rodent Incident

Reported about 1 year ago

On July 4th, around 2 am, over 2,000 households in Nantun District, Taichung City, experienced a sudden power outage. Taiwan Power Company (Taipower) discovered that the outage was caused by a rodent climbing the utility pole and causing a wire to drop. Repair work was carried out promptly, and power was restored within approximately an hour. The incident left residents hot and frustrated in the middle of the night as they resorted to going outside to cool down, unable to use fans or air conditioning due to the blackout.
