At the 35th Golden Melody Awards, indigenous female singer Panai, who won 'Best Taiwanese Album', mentioned the Tiananmen Incident in her speech, angering Chinese netizens and causing all her information to be erased in China. In response, the DPP caucus supported Panai, stating that her actions highlighted Taiwan's precious freedom. They emphasized that freedom, democracy, openness, and diversity are Taiwan's most valuable qualities, and any form of self-censorship or cooperation with China to destroy this freedom must be courageously resisted by all Taiwanese individuals.
