In Taitung's night sky on June 30, 2024, at 1:44 am, an unidentified flying luminous object was spotted gliding across the skyline, sparking discussions among netizens. The object appeared as a fireball-like bright light dragging a long tail, then suddenly flashed and burst before vanishing in the air. The scene was captured by a 4K live video camera at the Duli Visitor Center by the Eastern Coast Scenic Area Management Office, prompting the office director Lin Wei-ling to seek explanations on social media and causing a buzz online.
