On June 25, 2024, the Mirror magazine exposed the limited liability Taiwan He Yi Care Service Labor Cooperative Society for illegally misappropriating epidemic prevention bonuses through frontmen. It was later discovered that they also misappropriated service fees and labor/health insurance subsidies totaling 1.462 million NTD from the Taoyuan Armed Forces General Hospital. The Taoyuan District Prosecutor's Office investigated and indicted Chairperson Zeng Wang Mei and three others for aggravated fraud and other offenses under the Criminal Code. The cooperative had previously been reported for violating labor laws and misappropriating epidemic prevention funds, leading to accusations of being a 'fake cooperative society.' Despite a court ruling, the cooperative continued to operate in the Taoyuan and Hsinchu regions. The indictment alleges the chairperson and others fraudulently claimed subsidies and caused financial damages amounting to 1.462 million NTD, with the prosecution seeking confiscation of illicit gains.
