This incident reminds many of a similar scandal in Japan last year where a 17-year-old high school student 'licked plates' at a Sushiro restaurant, causing a 160 billion yen (approximately 36.8 billion New Taiwan dollars) overnight collapse in the company's stock price. The repercussions of such incidents have led to a significant drop in consumer confidence and share prices, highlighting concerns over food safety and hygiene practices at the restaurant.
