Taiwanese Student's First-Hand Account of Train Accident: 'Walking through the Tunnel Felt Like Escape'

A student named Ko from Dong Hwa University was on the Train No. 229 when it collided with falling rocks in the Clear Water Tunnel in Hualien, causing derailment and injuries to the train conductor and 8 passengers. Ko shared a photo of himself covered in mud after exiting the tunnel, calling it his 'first experience of walking through a train tunnel.' The incident was perilous as passengers had to walk through dark and muddy conditions with the help of cellphone flashlights. Fortunately, all injured passengers are now in stable condition after receiving medical treatment.
