Taiwanese Temple Announces Guan Gong's Marriage to Mazu, Luermen Tianhou Temple Issued Urgent Statement

Reported about 1 year ago

A private temple in Tainan, Taiwan, Yu Zhi Wuxuan Altar, posted a notice stating that General Guan Sheng will marry the Heavenly Empress of Luermen Tianhou Temple and even wrote out the love story between the two deities, changing her name to 'Heavenly Guan Sheng Empress.' This sparked discussions among followers, prompting Luermen Tianhou Temple to issue a clarification statement. According to the temple, the deities made a pact after meeting, and the Heavenly Empress's spirit will be taken to Yu Zhi Wuxuan Altar on May 4th of the lunar calendar for the 'marriage ceremony.' Despite explanations that the Heavenly Empress is a spirit and not the original deity, Luermen Tianhou Temple clarified that the temple document was simply an announcement poster and welcomed believers without any actual marriage taking place.
