Taiwan's Wu Xuan Temple stirred up controversy by announcing the 'marriage' between their Guan Sheng Emperor and the deer ear door Mazu, provoking online and real-world disputes. However, the temple's subsequent announcement of legal action to defend religious freedom through Jeetai Law Firm was refuted by the firm itself, stating they have not been appointed by the temple. This move comes after the temple faced backlash for attempting to challenge Taiwanese folk beliefs by referring to Mazu as 'Heavenly Guan Sheng Mother' and 'marrying' her to their deity, creating serious tension among believers.
