Taiwanese Tour Buses Involved in 3-Vehicle Collision on National Freeway

On June 23, 2024, at around 8 a.m., a three-vehicle collision involving tour buses occurred on the southbound lane of National Freeway No. 1 in Tainan at kilometer 304.6. Nearly 100 passengers on board were left startled but fortunately unharmed. The collision was suspected to be caused by failure to maintain a safe distance. The drivers involved were tested for alcohol with a result of 0, and the incident is still under investigation by the highway police. The passengers were en route from Taichung to Tainan for a religious pilgrimage.
