The Ministry of Economic Affairs in Taiwan has approved four overseas investment cases, including Taiwanese semiconductor company TSMC's expansion projects in Japan's Kumamoto and Arizona, U.S., totaling over $10.2 billion. The investment will be used for building advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in both countries, focusing on producing cutting-edge semiconductor products. The ministry emphasized that despite the expansions, TSMC's core processes and research centers will remain in Taiwan, contributing to the local industry and enhancing international competitiveness.
