On June 21, 2024, at 4:50 PM, Taiwan Railways' 229 train (Tze-chiang Express, 3000 series) struck fallen rocks at K51 in the west line of Chongde-He Ren section, inside the Qingshui Tunnel. The accident resulted in 9 injuries. Affected passengers were transferred to Xincheng Station with meals provided, and a full refund was offered for the 2-hour delay. Due to the incident, repair work is ongoing throughout the night.
