A woman from Chiayi, Taiwan, married a Dutch man she met in Hong Kong, and after artificial insemination in Taiwan, gave birth to a son. However, after 8 years, the husband never visited Taiwan, leading to the woman filing for divorce, which was granted by the Chiayi District Court. The court ruled in favor of the woman taking custody of the child due to the husband's lack of involvement and his indication of having a new family. Despite occasional virtual interactions, the husband's absence and disinterest in maintaining the marriage resulted in the divorce approval.
