On June 14, 2024, at 7:48 am, Public TV News reported that despite efforts to clear accumulated water with a vacuum cleaner, water kept dripping from the roof of Taoyuan Airport's Terminal 2, especially during a heavy rainfall causing leaks in the food court and VIP lounges, prompting public outcry. The leakage was attributed to incomplete waterproofing and delayed construction works exacerbated by sudden heavy rain. The airport management fined the contractor NT$100,000 and emphasized the need for preventive measures in handling high-risk construction tasks.
