Taoyuan Health Centers Struggle with Nursing Staff Shortage, Each Serving an Average of 11,000 People

Reported 7 months ago

On June 14, 2024, Taoyuan's Daxi Health Center faces a shortage of nursing staff, with each nurse serving an average of 11,452 people, including responsibilities such as consultations, blood testing, and vector control. Despite recent recruitment of one additional nurse by the end of May, the situation remains challenging. To address the issue, Taoyuan Health Bureau plans to gradually increase staff by 6 this year and 12 each in the following two years, alongside adopting AI for early detection in orthopedic care. This initiative aims to improve efficiency and reduce manpower strain, responding to the increasing population and public health demands.
